Everything is different now..

I am a married woman and I tell you it is great
I love the man I've married
We're brought together by fate
I love the relationship we have
and that we continue to date

Life is much less stressful without a wedding left to plan
No more bows to tie or programs to print
No people to pay or linens to choose
It was fun while it lasted, but Im not singin the blues

My job is great and now I have more time
More time to work and relationships to build
more faces to do and lives to touch
and time to pursue my dreams...
I love it so much

School is hard, but I like the challenge
I love that I'm thinking and learning each day
I love that that I am on my way
I love that I will have a degree
and I will have reached my goal

I love that I'm the first in my family to graduate from colllege
I want to set that example
I want my sisters to see..
that if Kayla can they can too
I want to pave the way

My life is different now than it was a month ago
man is it great
It's better than before
Ive closed and locked the door
I am so grateful for where I am
and I thank God each day that I am in his hand!!!

and writing another page
I'm walking through this journey
even when the pace may change
its not a race
I must remind myself
I don't have to exhaust myself
perfection is my enemy
I'm not in this alone
He will make me strong

and I can take my time
I can enjoy the little things in life
and make memories to share
I can breath in every single breath
and relax in the open air

Making Time

So.... I decided tonight to really take some time and think about "Time", I know crazy right??? lol

I was just thinking about how busy I am and realized that GOD IS SO INCREDIBLY FAITHFUL!!! I realized that I will let my day slip by so often and become so wrapped up in my own life that I forget to take time to really thank God and listen to what he has to say.

I am truly AMAZED at God's grace and although I may stumble and fall short time after time he still stands waiting for me to simply knock and chase afer him again. I know that all I have to do is come running whether I have everything to give or nothing to give he loves me either way.

And although I could if I wanted to, I could just rest in that incredible grace.... my heart desires SOOOOO much more! And (THIS IS SO EXCITING :) I am reminded of Matthew 6:33...

"But let your first care be for his kingdom and his righteousness; and all these other things will be given to you in addition."

(I like that translation) but really... HOW CRAZY IS THIS... and to think I had begun to let life pass me by without continually seeking..ALL i have to do is seek him, fear him, and be a woman after his own heart....wow

SO... through more studying, and some prayer I have come to the conclusion that I need to show GOd that I value our time together... which means setting aside time in my day... ( and I mean REAL time, my productive time.. not like 11pm) to seek him!!! His word says---

"For there is a proper time and procedure for every delight, though a man's trouble is heavy upon him. " (ECCL 3: 1)

There is a time for me to study... a time.... to write my papers... a time to dance.. I time to have fun... and although I may think that my life is crazy there is ALWAYS time to be with my Lord who wants me to want to spend time with him and chat over coffee like I would with a close friend.... IAfter all... I desire for him to be SOOOO much more than just that!!

Even in Proverbs 31, it talks about how a virtuous woman of God uses her time wisely and does everything she does to the best of her abilities.... She does not waste her time and she can reflest on her day and think about how efficient she was. ( I SO want to be like that and I really think God can see that on my heart!) Sometimes I think we have to set regular coffee dates :) with God and bulid our relationship with him ON PURPOSE... just like we would with a friend. I cannot just expect to grow stronger in him with out giving him my GOOD time everyday.

Wow... God is so good... so faithful all the time... and i am continually AMAZED that he puts up with me! HE is SOOOO good!!!! Gosh, just had to say that again...

Well... there is a season for everything and now it is a time for slumber!

Gratitude

I am overwhelmed with gratitude
and cannot say enough thanks
when I think about one woman
and how many lives she's changed
Not Just mine or my a unit or two
but the lives of hundreds and thousands, not few

The opportunity I have
seems like a dream come true
I can't believe it was one woman
one just like me or you
She made eveyone important
and gave everyone a chance
to sing their song and dance their dance
and live their dreams outloud

I wish I could have met her
seen her face to face
I wish I could have been there
when she made that first pink case
Youth is great and I'm glad I'm young
but I feel maybe I missed out
I will hold on to her memory
and I will listen to her words
I'll say thanks everyday
that forty five years ago
this one woman gave to me
gave me a chance to soar
to soar on silver wings
and change my family's life
to make women feel more beautiful
and put away their strife

I'm feeling so excited
about where I am right now.
I know that God has a plan for me
and my life is in his hands.
He knit me together
in my momma's womb
and made me just my size

I know he has plans for me
Plans to prosper and to grow
I know he gives me strength
and shows me what to do
I know he knows the plan
even when I haven't a clue

I know I can do all things
through him who gives me strength
I know that he will give to me
the desires of my heart
I have big dreams and lots of plans
and I will let him guide me with his hand

Right now I will earn a car..
and help women feel their best
I will let them know how much I care
and help them towards success
I'm so grateful for what I have
and cannot settle for anything less

God is so great and I am so blessed
and I hope I represent him full well
I want to be a woman of God
and be a light for all to see

I hope that I can be more
than even I can see
I want to leave a legacy and
bless all who come around
I want to give God the Glory
when my success is finally found.
